Last week, we brought our team of Palmer’s Chefs and Managers for an exciting two days of eating, learning and brainstorming. It is so much fun to discover new products, learn the stories behind the producers and see the new trends in the industry. With 180,000 products to try, we decided to split up into 3 groups, the chefs, the specialty food buyers and bakery/deli/cheese mongers, YUM!!!
We have several vendors we purchase our cheese, charcuterie and accompaniments from. At our tasting with Seacrest at the end of our first day, we enjoyed 6 different flights of cheeses from artisan producers from around the world. It’s such an incredible opportunity to learn about the makers of these incredible cheeses and decide what new items we want to carry in the store.
Of course there’s everything that goes along with cheese including our favorite fig jams from Divinia. We tasted their new sour cherry spread, which was incredible! We think you will love it on your next cheese platter.
One of the new vendors we found was The Spotted Trotter. Not only is their charcuterie delicious, we just love their passion for providing responsible animal husbandry through their local farmers. Another great addition to your next cheese platter!
Megan was super excited to meet her kid’s all-time favorite celebrity – Chef Gonzo Jimenez. He’s a Netflix star on Bake Squad (which they don’t miss an episode of). He was there representing Republica Del Cacao where he is a partner chef!
With tired feet, full stomachs and brains bursting with ideas, we can hardly wait for everything to start coming into the store. Keep your eyes open for lots of exciting new products and displays throughout the store!
Happy Eating!
